Aerospace Engineer

Delft University of Technology

Panagiotis Papadopoulos is currently a Graduate Aerospace engineer with focus in advanced space systems and hypersonics at Delft University of Technology. He holds a bachelor’s degree in aerospace engineering from TU Delft. He was employed as Research Associate intern by the Science and Technology Corporation at the NASA Ames Research Center (summers ’18 and ’19). During his internship he investigated the effects of the Fineness Ratio on the aerothermal performance of the Co-Optimization of Blunt-body Re-entry Analysis Mars Re-entry Vehicle (CobraMRV). He also performed Thermal Protection System (TPS) sizing for Sirca15 tile, AFRSI and FRSI blankets and parametric aerothermal analysis to assess the aeroheating effects of Fineness Ratio.  He is an avid user of CFD and FEM algorithms and related software. He applied finite volume formulations in Python for solving the time-dependent Navier Stokes equations. Implemented Design of Space Exploration (DoE) framework and optimization techniques and functions. Employed Monte Carlo analysis, stochastic methodologies, constrained, and unconstrained optimization algorithms for engineering applications.
